January 2024: 5 Books Down

Welcome to our first monthly recap of the 100 Books in 2024 Reading Challenge, I’m your host and participant: Sydney!

Most people who know me, know that I am the kind of person to make BIG plans and go a bit overboard. So when I told people I was going to try to read 100 books in a year, most just nodded their heads. A quick check on the calculator, and the math shows to accomplish this, I have to read about 8.3 books per month. I was a bit behind this month, but nothing that can’t be made up in the months to come.

Here’s a recap of the 5 Books I read in January and a few other fun stats!

5 Books

4:50 From Paddington by Agatha Christie
This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed
Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig
Yellowface by R. F. Kuang

Highest Rated Book: Two Twisted Crowns ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lowest Rate Book: Yellowface ⭐️⭐️

Other Goals:

Books from my TBR: 4
(Everything except Yellowface)
Nonfiction/Memoirs: 1 (Tiny Beautiful Things)
Finished Series: 1
(The Shepard King Duology/Two Twised Crowns)
Audiobooks: 1 (Yellowface)
Books bought: 3
(First Lie Wins, Yellowface, and The Dead Romantics)

Overall, January was busier than I expected, so I’m looking forward to February for even more reading (and writing) time! Stay tuned for more on instagram.
