March 2024: Behind the Pace

And we’re back from the commercial break! Admittedly, I’m behind the pace to meeting my reading goal this year. Even though March was a good month for my TBR list, it was very bad for my book buying goal (see below). So far, I’ve read 17 books in 2024!

6 Books in March

A Mirror Mended By Alix E. Harrow
The Mystery of the Blue Train By Agatha Christie
The Wishing Game By Meg Shaffer
First Lie Wins By Ashley Elston
Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? By Agatha Christie
You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty By Akwaeke Emezi

Highest Rate Book: Tied with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First Lie Wins and Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?
Lowest Rated Book: A Mirror Mended ⭐️⭐️

Other Goals

Books from My TBR: 4 (Why Didn’t They Ask Evans and You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty were new purchases in March.
Book of the Month editions: 2 (The Wishing Game and First Lie Wins)
Hours Spent Writing in March: 8 hours (Woohoo! More to come in April!)
Total Writing Hours 2024: 15 hours

Books Bought: 7

Yep, once again I am wayyy over my 3 books per month limit. What can I say, I went to the Book Loft in German Village. If you’ve never been into this delightful Columbus, Ohio book store, you should add it to your list! Not only are the books VERY reasonably priced, but with 32 rooms of books, you are SURE to find something you’ll love.

Anyway, here’s the full report of books I bought in March:
Here After (Book of the Month)
You Made a Fool of Death With Your Beauty (Book Club choice for March)
Why Didn’t They Ask Evans
The Jetsetters
Lord of the Flies
The War of the Worlds
A Haunting in Venice

Books Gifted: 7

March was my birthday month (Pisces!), and I received some lovely books as gifts. I actually had a couple people ask what I wanted for my birthday, and I told them, “a copy of their favorite book.”
These along with my free Book of the Year and Birthday Book from Book of the Month round out this bonus category for March.
Yours Truly
Where the World Ends
Go, Dog. GO!
My Dog, My Hero
Puppies, Dogs, and Blue Northers
The Traveler’s Gift
Happiness is a Warm Puppy

All in all, another great month of reading! While I’m behind the pace of my 100 book goal, I’m pretty optimistic that there is still plenty of time to catch up.
Also, if you’re wondering why First Lie Wins is missing from the picture of March reads, it’s because I already loaned it out to a friend, who is LOVING it!
