Why did you write Musings?
Musings happened because I found an opportunity online to commit to a writing project that would be published. I wanted to take some time this year to focus on writing, and I wanted something to show for it at the end. Once I started, it all just spilled out. I haven’t written this well or this fast in a LONG time. It was really about reminding myself that this is what I love: Telling stories.
Where can I get a copy?
Musings is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Who did the cover art?
I did! I used Canva to create it.
What are the “Art Stories”?
Musings has a few themes that are really strong; one of them is art. I love art museums, and I’ve been so fortunate to see some of the best collections in the world, including the Louvre, The National Gallery (London), The Tate Modern, the Borghese Gallery (Rome), the Vatican Collection, and the Cleveland Art Museum, to name a few.
These experiences have had a major impact on my writing. You’ll see the art theme in the longest story in the collection, Overnight: Gallery 224, as well as Pottery Poetry, Providence, and Exhibit Placard.
What are the “sky pieces”?
I wrote a significant portion of this collection around the time of the total solar eclipse in April of 2024. That bled over into my writing with a lot of pieces centering around the sky. The pieces in this group include: Horoscope, Look Up, Waiting for Them, and Come Down.
Is there really a story about aliens in this book?
I don’t know. Read Waiting for Them and decide for yourself.
Did you hide anything in this book?
Yes, my lucky number!
There are also a few other “Easter eggs” in this book; things that are real places or references, but that might not mean anything to others but mean a great deal to me.
What are people saying about Musings?
Right now it has a 5 star rating on Goodreads!
